Mindset of A Winner: “Certified Media Placement Specialist” Mastery
I have come to realize through my experiences that what you do in life has EVERYTHING to do with the way you think, rather than it having to do with your circumstances. So often, we want to blame our circumstances for what we do. I have learned that you cannot let your circumstances TELL you how to live. You have to live above them.
Our “thinking programming” happens automatically throughout our lives from when we are born to everything we experience as we grow up to where we are today. We have experiences; we learn from our experiences; we develop theories about the world and, especially, about ourselves from what we have learned. These theories seem correct and real based on our experiences. But, usually, they are flawed.
The wonderful thing is that you can reset your “thinking programming.” You can replace your theories that you have developed from your experiences with new theories you can consciously choose. You can choose what you want to believe about yourself. You can choose to think the way a successful person thinks.
This is much deeper than some sort of Polly-Anna-ignore-reality fashion of positive thinking. It is discovering and realizing that you already have what it takes within yourself to be a success. Maybe you just need someone else to show you how to find it. Once you do, you will realize that the things you used to think about yourself were completely false.
One of the best books, in my opinion, to guide someone to change their thinking and find the success within themselves is the book, “Think and Grow Rich,” by Napolean Hill. It was a twenty year study of the most successful people, millionaires and even billionaires, in the fifties. Napolean Hill had been commissioned by Andrew Carnegie to interview the most successful people in the world. His original work, “Success Laws,” was then condensed to “Think and Grow Rich.”
In this work, there are approximately sixteen main characteristics of successful people. I want to point out a few and how to apply them to be successful as a “Certified Media Placement Specialist.”
1. Burning Desire
2. The ability to make a Decision
3. Persistence
4. Specialized Knowledge
~ Burning Desire:
You have to look inside yourself and ask, “What is my passion?” What drives you? For me, it was providing the best, most stable, environment I could for my kids. I did not want to constantly live in fear of being evicted, having my car repossessed, getting my utilities turned off and worrying about just providing basic necessities. I was tired of being one flat tire away from disaster. My children deserved better than this, and I was determined to find some way to provide that for them. This was my passion. It was my burning desire.
Once you tap into your passion, you unleash a powerful force within that can propel you to success. You can then channel that passion to drive you to reach your goals. What is your passion? What do you want more than anything in life? How could becoming a “Certified Media Placement Specialist” help you reach your goals? Once you make the connection, you will have the burning desire you need that is a keystone to success as a “Certified Media Placement Specialist.”
~ The ability to make a decision:
Successful people have the ability to make a decision quickly, efficiently and effectively. According to Napolean Hill in “Think and Grow Rich,” unsuccessful people make decisions slowly, if at all; then they change their minds all the time. Well, of course you are never going to be successful if you change your mind all of the time. It is like if you are trying to grow a garden, and you keep uprooting the sprouts and planting new seeds. Nothing will ever grow because you cannot decide what to even plant. You are more likely to have a successful garden if you just make one decision about what you want to grow and stick with it. The success of the garden starts with being successful in making a decision.
In business, your decisions become the focal point of your passions. The decision is the magnifying glass that channels the rays of your passions into a focused beam of light. Your goals are like the ant running for its life. It does not have a chance of escaping . So, to apply that to being a successful “Certified Media Placement Specialist,” you simply need to make decisions about what media you want to place and put together a plan of how you will accomplish that.
~ Persistence:
Persistence is the ability to go, even though everything seems to be saying, “No.” Once I made up my mind that I was going to find a way to be successful, I was unstoppable. I stared life in the eye and said, “Don’t tell me I can’t, because I know I can!” I refused to give up, no matter what the circumstances. I do not understand the meaning of the word, “Quit.” Where there was no way, I made a way. You have to INSIST on what it is that you want and to not accept anything less. You have to have a will made of steel. This is what all winners have. They do not win simply because they are better than the rest. They win because they are more determined than the rest.
In business, you can climb to dizzying heights by just taking one step at a time up the mountain before you. The key is persistence. You can apply this principle to being a successful “Certified Media Placement Specialist” by being persistent at learning and applying different media placement techniques.
~ Specialized knowledge:
Specialized knowledge is different from traditional education. Specialized knowledge is being “in the know,” so to speak. It is like the phrase, “Those who can’t do, teach.” The reason people like Bill Gates and Donald Trump are not professors at colleges teaching about success in business is because they are too busy being successes in business. They have specialized knowledge. This is the kind of knowledge you would not learn in a class room.
The best place to acquire specialized knowledge is from people who are out doing it and making it happen. They are “in the know.” To apply this to being successful as a “Certified Media Placement Specialist,” you want to learn media placement techniques from people who are successful and have had success. You want to learn from people actually doing it. With our program, we are actually teaching our students to use the very same media placement techniques that we use to promote our business. We know these techniques are effective because we use them ourselves.
I feel that if someone incorporates the Four Keys mentioned above as a “Certified Media Placement Specialist,” the potential is unlimited! In fact, I am confident to say that if someone applies the Four Keys, they will likely be successful in anything they pursue.
